The edges of the plastic are very rough cut. The plastic even has surface flaws. For a ruler device, this is one of the worst quality products I've seen. If plastic and rulers are your business, I would expect the product to look like it. It was also higher priced than the Staedtler brand and I can't imagine why. I do NOT recommend this product.
